On Campus
The åüÃÄÖ±²¥-Google News Initiative Misinformation Student Fellowship is a program that places 10 student journalists in newsrooms around the country to focus on boosting misinformation resilience in local communities. The new program, created with support from GNI, aims to build on the success of the MediaWise Campus Correspondents program. Fellows will work on various projects aimed at curbing the spread of misinformation and promoting media and digital literacy at the community level.
The Campus Correspondents program was started in 2020, just prior to the last presidential election, as part of the MediaWise Voter Project. Since then, college students have taught thousands of their peers crucial digital media literacy skills in virtual and in-person workshops on college campuses across the United States.
